Siri & Shortcuts
Wispen adds actions to the Shortcuts app, so you can start a voice note, grab your last dictation or transcribe a file from Siri, Spotlight or your own shortcuts.
Actions
| Action | Platforms | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| New Voice Note | iPhone, iPad, Mac | Opens Wispen, creates a new note and starts dictating into it. |
| Get Last Dictation | iPhone, iPad, Mac | Returns the text of your most recent dictation. |
| Transcribe Audio File | iPhone, iPad, Mac | Transcribes an audio or video file on your device with your selected speech model and returns the text. Turn on Save as Note to also keep it as a note, titled with the file name. |
| Dictate Into Current App | Mac | Starts or stops dictation into the app in front, like the global shortcut. |
Get Last Dictation returns the last dictation you made into another app on the Mac. If there isn't one, it returns your newest note.
Transcribe Audio File runs without opening Wispen. If no speech is found, the shortcut stops with an error instead of carrying on with empty text.
Siri phrases
These work without setting anything up:
- "New voice note in Wispen" or "Start dictating in Wispen"
- "Get my last Wispen dictation"
- "Transcribe audio with Wispen"
