Studio Exporting

Export renders every slide at each chosen App Store size with headless Chromium, at the exact pixel size rather than scaled. It saves the PNGs in folders and downloads a zip.

Sizes

Sizes are from App Store Connect's screenshot specifications, as of October 2026. Each device has a Design size (what the editor shows) and any number of Export sizes, both set on the App tab under Devices and sizes.

Notes the editor shows for each device:

  • iPhone: Medium (Dynamic Island) is required. Large covers Pro Max, Plus and Air.
  • iPhone Duo: required from April 2027 for apps built with the iOS 27.1 SDK or later.
  • iPad: 13" is required for iPad apps. Smaller iPads use it scaled.
  • Mac: any one 16:10 size is accepted.

A slide is exported for every device it has a screenshot for. Slides without one for a device are skipped for that device.

Export

  1. Click Export in the toolbar.
  2. In Export screenshots, tick the devices and, under each, the sizes to render. The sizes start from the app's Export sizes.
  3. If the app has product page assets or languages, tick which to include.
  4. Click Export and download zip.

The files are named in listing order after each slide's headline:

./data/studio/exports/<app>-<time>/
  iphone/1320x2868/01-plan-every-workout.png
  iphone/1206x2622/01-plan-every-workout.png
  ipad/2064x2752/01-plan-every-workout.png
  product-page/header-3840x1646.png
<app>-<time>.zip

With translations, each language gets its own folder (for example en-US/ and de-DE/) with the same file names inside. A non-primary screenshot set adds the set's name to the folder and zip names.

The zip downloads in your browser, and the folder stays in ./data/studio/exports.

Guideline Checks

The studio checks your words against Apple's App Store screenshot guidance and shows problems on the slide, on the Slide tab and in appshot status.

Errors:

  • Apple recognitions such as App of the Day, Editors' Choice or Apple Design Award. Apple shows these itself.
  • Prices and discounts, such as "$4.99", "50% off", "free trial" or "per month".
  • Website URLs.
  • ©, ® and ™ symbols.
  • Other platforms or stores, such as Android, Google Play or Windows.
  • More than 10 screenshots for a device. App Store Connect accepts at most 10 per device size.

Warnings:

  • Claims you can't verify, such as "#1", "best app" or "award-winning".
  • Headlines over nine words. Apple suggests a short phrase; aim for seven or fewer.
  • More than three headline lines.
  • A device with no slides yet.
  • In a translation, slides that still show the base text.

The checks don't stop you from exporting.
