Wiki Entries
Wiki entries are the building blocks of your world. Each type has its own fields, and entries link to each other automatically when you mention them by name.

Lists
Each type has a list page with:
- Search by name, description, background, notes and tags.
- Filter buttons along the top for common types or roles, for example Hero and Villain on Characters, or Dungeon and Forest on Locations.
- A button to Switch to list view or Switch to grid view. Realm Lore remembers your choice for all lists.
- Add New, which creates an entry and opens it ready to edit.
Right-click an entry for Open Wiki Page, Edit, Duplicate and Delete. Duplicate makes a copy named "Name (copy)".
Tagging several entries
- Click Select at the top of a list.
- Tick the entries you want, or click All.
- Click Tag and choose add tags or remove tags.
- Type tags separated by commas, or click existing tags in the list below, then click Add Tags or Remove Tags.
- Click Done to leave select mode.
Viewing and editing an entry
Click an entry to open its wiki page. Pages open in View mode. Switch to Edit with the toggle at the top, by clicking any empty field, or by pressing ⌘E.
Changes save automatically about a second after you stop typing. The top bar shows Saving…, Unsaved or Saved, and the Save button saves immediately. Anything unsaved is also saved when you leave the page.
Formatting text
Long text fields have a small toolbar in Edit mode:
| Button | Inserts |
|---|---|
| Bold | **text** |
| Italic | *text* |
| Heading | ## at the start of the line |
| Bullet | • at the start of the line |
| Indent | An indented line |
Typing - or * followed by a space at the start of a line also starts a bullet. Press Return to continue the list, or Return on an empty bullet to end it. In View mode, headings, bullets, --- dividers, bold and italic are displayed formatted.
Automatic links
In View mode, whenever an entry's name appears in a text field, Realm Lore turns it into a colored link. Plurals and possessives, like "Veyra's", are recognized too. Click a link to open that entry.
Fields by type
Some sections only appear when they apply. For example, Settlement Details appears when a location's type is City, Town, Village or Castle.

Character inventory
Character pages have an Inventory panel with four tabs: On Hand, House, Bank and Other.
- Click + to add an item.
- Type a name. Realm Lore suggests matching items, weapons, armor, artifacts and potions from your Things, and offers to create a new Thing if there isn't one.
- Set the quantity, rarity and location, add notes if you like, and click Add Item.
Use − and + on a row to change the quantity, or Edit and Remove. The panel shows the total number of items across all four tabs.
Connections
The Connections panel on each page lists how the entry relates to others.
- Click the link icon (Link existing entity).
- Describe the connection, for example "Sister of" or "Sworn enemy of".
- Choose an entry and click Add.
Connections show on both entries' pages. Hover over one and click the trash icon to remove it. A small graph below the list shows the entry's connections at a glance.
+ Variant makes a copy of the entry called "Name Variant", connects it as a variant and opens it for editing. Use it for alternate versions of a character or place.
D&D stat blocks
When the D&D tools are turned on, character and creature pages get a D&D Stat Block tab. Fill in Armor Class, Hit Points, Speed, the six ability scores, Senses, Languages and Challenge Rating (CR), and add actions with Add Action. View mode shows a classic stat block with ability modifiers worked out for you. The initiative tracker uses the Hit Points and Armor Class from here.
Images and the Asset Gallery
Most entry types have a Portrait / Image URL or Image URL field. In Edit mode you can:
- Paste a web address starting with
https://, or - Click Browse to pick an image on your Mac. Realm Lore copies it into the world's
assetsfolder and fills in the field.
The Asset Gallery in the sidebar shows every image you've imported for the active world.
- Click Upload Image to import PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG or GIF files. You can choose several at once.
- Type in Search assets... to find an image by file name.
- Hover over an image and click Delete asset to remove it. Deleted assets are erased, not moved to the Trash, and entries that used them lose their picture.
Export an entry
Click Export as Markdown at the top of an entry's page to save it as a .md file with its fields, tags and text.
Delete an entry
Click Delete entry at the top of the page, or right-click the entry in a list and choose Delete. The entry moves to the Trash, and its connections and map pins are removed.
