iCloud
Settings › iCloud › iCloud Sync keeps your notes, projects and note history the same on all your devices, through your private iCloud account. It's on by default. Turning it on or off takes effect the next time you open Wispen.
The Status row shows what sync is doing:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Up to Date | Everything is synced. Shows when it last synced. |
| Syncing… | Sending and receiving changes. |
| Checking iCloud… | Checking your iCloud account. |
| Not Signed In | Sign in to iCloud in your device's Settings to sync your notes. |
| iCloud Restricted | iCloud access is restricted on this device. |
| Waiting for Network | Changes will sync when iCloud is reachable. |
| iCloud Storage Full | Free up iCloud storage to keep syncing. |
| On After Relaunch / Off After Relaunch | Relaunch Wispen to apply the change. |
| Off | Notes are stored on this device only. |
| Sync Error | Shows the error from iCloud. |
These don't sync and stay on each device: settings, your dictionary, AI modes, per-app modes, Insights stats, downloaded models, and audio from imported files.
Appearance
| Setting | Options |
|---|---|
| Note Font | Sans-Serif (Modern), Serif (Editorial) or Monospace (Technical). Used for note titles and text. |
| Accent Color | Red (default), Orange, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, Purple, Pink or White. Used for the recording waveform, highlights and the Wispen Keyboard. |
A preview below the settings shows how your notes will look. Wispen always uses a dark theme.

- Words Dictated, with the number of dictations.
- Time Saved, compared with typing at 40 words per minute.
- Speaking Pace, in words per minute.
- Current Streak, in days.
- Words per Day, a chart for the last 7 Days, 14 Days or 30 Days.
- Today: words and dictations so far today, and time saved.
Dictations in notes and into other apps on the Mac count, and so do Wispen Keyboard dictations that the Wispen app records for the keyboard. Command Mode instructions don't.
To start over, choose Reset Stats… and confirm. Your notes aren't affected.
