Troubleshooting & FAQ

My data isn't showing on my other device

  • Check that both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account and that iCloud is turned on.
  • Fen checks for iCloud when it opens. If you signed in to iCloud while Fen was running, close Fen fully and open it again.
  • Give it a few minutes on a network connection. iCloud sync isn't instant.

Some data never syncs: Document Locker images, debts, Breakdown Calculator lines and templates, and settings. See Privacy & Data.

A document shows a thumbnail but won't open

The full-size image is stored only on the device where you added the document. Open it on that device.

My wallet won't save

Every wallet needs a name, and no two wallets can have the same name. Capitalization doesn't count, so "Home" and "home" are the same name.

I'm not getting reminders

  • In the iOS Settings app, open Fen > Notifications and make sure notifications are allowed.
  • In Fen, open Settings > Notifications and check both switches.
  • Subscription reminders fire once, on the renewal date you entered. After a subscription renews, edit it and set the next Renewal Date.
  • Goal reminders need Due Date Enabled turned on, and they're only scheduled for dates still in the future.

Scanned items say "Unknown Merchant"

The Receipt Scanner reads item names and prices, not the store name. Open each saved expense and enter the merchant. See Receipt Scanner.

An expense total looks wrong

An expense's total is price × quantity. If totals look off after an update, go to Settings and tap Force Resave Expenses to recalculate them.

Can Fen connect to my bank?

No. Fen is a manual tracker. You add every entry yourself.

Does Fen convert currencies?

No. The Currency Symbol setting only changes the symbol shown. All amounts are treated as one currency.

Do subscriptions add expenses automatically?

No. Subscriptions are tracked separately from expenses and don't affect your balances. See Subscriptions.

Still stuck?

In Fen, go to Settings > Email Support, or email support@oddomens.com.
