Shop & Purchases
Tide Keep is free to play, with no ads. The shop sells optional pearls, permanent perks and holiday bundles. Pearls are also earned in the game, from achievements and holiday events.
Open the shop with the cart button at the top left, or by tapping your pearls. Buy buttons show the price in your currency, straight from the App Store.
Pearls
Pearls are the game's premium currency. Every pack gives the same number of pearls to every player:

Plunder pays what your own defenses earn in that time, so it's worth the same at every stage. Gold from pearls doesn't count toward Renown.
Pearls also buy looks in Customization and holiday items in the event shop. Pearls never buy ship parts or levels in the Harbor.
Perks
Perks are permanent: buy one once and keep it for good, on every island and through a reset.

If you already own some perks, the Captain's Bundle says how many. Once you own all six, it's no longer shown.
Holiday bundles
Each holiday event has a bundle that unlocks every look from that event for good, including its holiday cannonball:
- Valentine's Day Bundle
- Easter Bundle
- Halloween Bundle
- Christmas Week Bundle
- New Year Bundle
Bundles are sold all year, not only during their event. See Events.
Buying
- Tap the price on the item.
- If a parent PIN is set, enter it.
- Confirm with Apple.

Owned perks and bundles show Owned.
Restore purchases
Perks and bundles come back on their own on any iPhone or iPad signed in to the same Apple Account. To restore them by hand:
- Open Settings > Shop & Purchases.
- Tap Restore purchases.
Pearl packs are restored too. If a pearl pack bought on your Apple Account is missing from your game (for example, after losing a save), Tide Keep adds those pearls back and tells you how many. Your pearls are also part of your iCloud backup.
Refunds
If Apple refunds a purchase, the game takes it back: a perk or bundle is removed, or the pack's pearls are taken from your balance (as many as are left).
For parents
- Parent PIN: set a four-digit PIN in Settings > Parents. Every purchase, App Store code, email and web link then needs it, and so do turning on online play and showing or hiding the shop. See Settings.
- Hide the shop: turn off Show the shop in Settings > Shop & Purchases to hide the shop button and pearl offers. Pearls earned from achievements still work.
- Ask to Buy works as usual for children in a Family Sharing group.
Codes
In Settings > Shop & Purchases, under Codes:
- Promo code: type a Tide Keep code and tap Redeem. Codes can give pearls, gold, Doubloons or looks. Each code works once per player.
- Redeem an App Store code: opens Apple's sheet for offer codes for pearls, perks and bundles. What the code gives arrives like a normal purchase.
