Customization and Settings
Pacts has two screens for preferences, both in the More tab:
- Customization controls how Pacts looks and behaves.
- Settings shows a summary of your data, the version history and the option to clear all data.
Customization preferences are stored on this iPhone. They don't sync to your other devices.
Customization
Open More > Customization.
Appearance
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Dark | Dark gray backgrounds. This is the default. |
| Midnight | Pure black backgrounds. During setup, this is called Extra Dark. |
| Light | Light backgrounds. |
| System | Follows your iPhone's light or dark setting. |
Navigation
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Hide Goals | Removes the Goals tab. Your goals and links aren't deleted. |
| Hide Protocols | Removes the Protocols tab. Your protocols and their effects keep working. |
Accent Color
Pick one of 14 accent colors: Blue, Indigo, Purple, Pink, Rose, Red, Orange, Amber, Yellow, Lime, Green, Teal, Cyan and Sky. The accent color is used on buttons, highlights and charts.
Under Button label color, pick the text color for accent-colored buttons: White, Off-white, Dark grey or Black. A preview button shows the result. Darker labels are easier to read on bright accents.
Protocol Checkbox Style
Choose Square (the default) or Circle for checkboxes and status icons throughout the app.
Calendar & Time

| 24-Hour Time | Shows check-in times on a 24-hour clock. |
| Week Starts On | Sunday or Monday. Changes the order of day pickers and the Weekly Pattern chart in Insights. |
Display

| Compact Pact Cards | Shows only the title and frequency on cards in the Pacts tab. |
| Compact Goal Cards | Shows only the title and description on cards in the Goals tab. |
| Compact Inbox Cards | Hides the subtitle and progress ring on cards in the Today tab. |
| Show Inactive Goals | Shows disabled goals in an Inactive section of the Goals tab. On by default. |
| Allow Editing Anytime | Lets you edit any pact without the 24-hour editing window. See Edit a pact. |
| Pact Details Size | Compact or Regular text size for the details in Edit Pact and View Details. |
| Pact Sort Order | Orders active pacts by Created (newest first), End Date (soonest first) or A–Z. |
Behavior
| Option | What it does |

| Haptic Feedback | Light vibrations when you tap buttons, check in and swipe cards. On by default. |
| Milestones & Trophies | Turns milestones on or off. |
| Default Log Entry | The entry type selected when you open the Log Entry sheet with Add Note: Daily Check-in, Weekly Review, Note or Discovery. |
| Default History Window | The period selected when you open Insights or Research: 30d, 60d, 90d or 100d. |
Notifications
Push Notifications turns all reminders on or off. See Notifications.
Hints & Tips
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Show Active Hints | Shows setup suggestions on the Today tab. |
| Hide all current suggestions | Dismisses every suggestion showing now. |
| Reset all hints | Brings back suggestions you've dismissed, if they still apply. |
Settings
Open More > Settings.
- Your Data shows your number of active pacts, total pacts, goals, protocols and total check-ins.
- Version History lists what changed in each release.
- Clear All Data deletes all of your pacts, goals, protocols and entries. See Privacy & Data.
The version number of the app is shown at the bottom of the More tab.
