My dream won't save
A dream needs a description. Type something in What happened in your dream?, or transcribe a voice note, then tap the checkmark.
When you edit an existing dream, save from the ••• menu with Save. The back arrow leaves without saving.
I don't see the Chat tab or the AI options
Turn on AI Features in Settings > Customize. When it's off, the Chat tab, the AI options in a dream's ••• menu and the AI Insight card are hidden.
The chat says it's having trouble
Chat with Dream and the Dream Guide on the Chat tab need Apple Intelligence. Check that your iPhone supports Apple Intelligence and that it's turned on in the iOS Settings app under Apple Intelligence & Siri. If it was just turned on, the model may still be downloading. Try again later.
Interpretations or stories seem simple
Without Apple Intelligence, Abysm uses simpler built-in versions of interpretations, stories and AI Insight. Turn on Apple Intelligence on a supported iPhone to get full AI results. See AI Features.
AI Insight doesn't appear when I tap the sparkle
AI Insight needs at least three entries in the selected year. Log a few more dreams, or pick a year with more entries.
I don't see Record Voice Note
Turn off Hide Premium Features in Settings > Customize.
Transcribe doesn't add any text
- Make sure Abysm has Speech Recognition and Microphone access in the iOS Settings app under Abysm.
- Transcription works in English (US).
- Check that you're connected to the internet. Apple may need to process the audio on its servers.
A new dream doesn't show up in Analytics
Analytics may not refresh right after you add a dream. Tap the year, pick a different year, then switch back. Or close and reopen Abysm.
My dreams aren't on my other iPhone
Make sure both iPhones are signed in to the same Apple Account, iCloud is turned on for Abysm, and both are online. Syncing can take a few minutes. Your name, settings and items added in Manage Metadata don't sync. See Privacy & Data.
Does Abysm send a morning reminder?
Not currently. Setup asks whether Abysm may send notifications, but this version doesn't schedule any reminders.
Do I need an account?
No. Abysm has no sign-up. Sync uses the iCloud account already on your iPhone.
Is Abysm free?
Yes. Every feature is free.
Is there an iPad or Mac version?
No. Abysm is made for iPhone.
