StillockRelease 2026.10.1

Settings

Open the Settings tab. The top of the screen shows how many items, notes and logins your vault holds and its total size.

If some items can't be opened, for example because a newer version of Stillock saved them on another device, Settings says how many. They're kept safely. Update Stillock to open them, and don't erase the vault.

Sections

Turn Media, Notes and Passwords on or off. Each one is a tab. Hiding a section keeps everything in it, and turning it back on shows it again. At least one stays on.

AutoFill

Shown when Passwords is on. See AutoFill.

OptionWhat it does
Fill Passwords in Safari & AppsKeeps an encrypted copy of your logins that only AutoFill can unlock. Off by default; turning it off deletes the copy.
Suggest Above KeyboardLets iOS list site names and usernames (never passwords) on this device. Off by default. Available while AutoFill is on.
Open AutoFill SettingsOpens the iOS settings where you turn on Stillock for AutoFill.

Vault

OptionWhat it does
Recently DeletedDeleted items, kept for 30 days. See Recently Deleted.
Back Up VaultSaves an encrypted backup file. See Back up your vault.
Restore from BackupAdds back items from a backup of this vault. See Restore items from a backup.

Security

OptionWhat it does
Unlock with Face IDTurns Face ID (or Touch ID) unlocking on or off. iOS asks you to confirm with Face ID when you turn it on.
PasscodeShows your passcode type and lets you change it
Auto-LockHow long you can be away from Stillock before it locks
Wrong PasscodesLockouts after wrong passcodes, or unlimited attempts
Erase DataWhether to erase this device's copy of the vault after a number of wrong passcodes. It never deletes the iCloud copy.
New Recovery KeyCreates a new recovery key

The options are explained in Lock options.

Change your passcode or lock options

Passcode, Auto-Lock, Wrong Passcodes and Erase Data all open the same steps:

  1. Enter your current passcode. A wrong passcode here counts toward lockouts and the erase limit.
  2. Choose Auto-Lock, Wrong Passcodes and, with lockouts, Erase Data.
  3. Enter a new passcode and confirm it, or tap Keep Current Passcode.

A new passcode applies to this device only. Other devices that sync the vault keep their own.

New recovery key

  1. Tap New Recovery Key, then Create Key.
  2. Save the new key, turn on I've saved my recovery key and tap Done.

Your old key no longer unlocks the vault. But an old copy of the vault file, such as an older backup, still accepts it. If you think your old key was exposed, erase and recreate your vault instead.

Privacy

OptionWhat it does
App IconChoose the standard icon or a Calculator, Journal, Weather, Clock or Tools icon. The name under the icon still reads Stillock.
Private KeyboardNo autocorrect or predictions in notes and search. On by default.
Remove Originals from PhotosAfter you import from Photos, asks iOS to delete the originals. Off by default. See Remove originals from Photos.

Third-party keyboards and Writing Tools are always off in Stillock.

Sync

OptionWhat it does
iCloud SyncKeeps the vault in iCloud Drive, encrypted. See iCloud Sync.
Delete Vault from iCloudShown after you stop syncing while a copy is still in iCloud. Deletes that copy. This device keeps its own.

About

How Stillock Works explains the design in Simple or Technical terms. Acknowledgements, Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are here too. The terms and policy open on oddomens.com in your browser.

Erase Vault

Erase Vault in the Danger Zone permanently destroys every photo, video, document, note, login and folder, and returns Stillock to setup.

  1. Tap Erase Vault.
  2. Without iCloud Sync, tap Erase Vault again. With iCloud Sync on, choose:
    • Erase on This iPhone Only (iPad on an iPad): erases this device's copy and turns iCloud Sync off here. The copy in iCloud and your other devices keep the vault, and this device can rejoin later with Restore from iCloud and your recovery key.
    • Erase Everywhere (deletes the iCloud copy): also deletes the vault from iCloud, so every device that syncs it loses it.
  3. Enter your passcode, or use Face ID or Touch ID. A wrong passcode here counts toward lockouts and the erase limit.

It can't be undone, and your recovery key can't bring back what's erased. Erasing also removes this device's passcode and Face ID keys, the AutoFill copy and the wrong-passcode settings, and turns AutoFill off. Backup files you saved elsewhere aren't affected.
