PactsRelease 2026.10.1

Check-ins and Entries

Everything you log on a pact is an entry. Check-ins record whether you kept the pact on a given day. Notes and discoveries let you write about it without changing your record.

Entry types

TypeWhat it recordsCounts toward streaks and completion
Daily Check-inDone or missed for a day, with an optional mood and reflection.Yes
Weekly ReviewDone or missed, a mood and an optional reflection on the week.Yes
NoteA freeform note with an optional title. No
DiscoverySomething you noticed or learned, like "I always skip when I'm hungry".No

Checking in again for a day you've already logged replaces that day's check-in, so you can switch a day from Missed to Done or back.

Ways to check in

WhereHow
Today tabTap the checkbox, swipe the card, or touch and hold the title. See Today.
Pact screenTap Check in, Weekly reflection or Final review, depending on the pact's check-in schedule.
Pact calendarTap a missed or skipped day. See The pact calendar.
NotificationTap Check In on a reminder. See Notifications.
Log Entry sheetSwipe right on a card in Today, or tap Add Note on a pact. See The Log Entry sheet.

Quick check-in

Check in on the pact screen opens a short Check-in sheet:

  1. Under Check-in for, change the date if you're logging an earlier day.
  2. Optionally type a Quick note first.
  3. Tap Done! or Missed. The check-in saves right away.

Weekly reflection and final review

Weekly reflection and Final review open a guided form:

  1. Change the date if needed.
  2. Under Did you do it?, choose Done! or Not this time.
  3. Pick a mood from the five faces.
  4. Optionally answer What's going well?, What's not going well? and What would you adjust?
  5. Tap Save Reflection or Save Final Review.

Protocol reminders

If one of your protocols has a Motivation effect and a keyword matches a word in the pact's title, the quick check-in and guided forms show it as a Protocol reminder at the top. See Protocols.

The Log Entry sheet

The Log Entry sheet can create any entry type.

  1. Pick a type at the top: Daily, Weekly, Note or Discovery.
  2. Set the Entry Date.
  3. Fill in the form for that type:
    • Daily and Weekly: choose a Status (Missed or Done), pick how you're feeling, and optionally tap Add reflection to write about it. Prompts appear above the text box to help you start.
    • Note: an optional Title and the Note itself. The note is required.
    • Discovery: What did you discover? and optional More detail. One of the two is required.
  4. Tap Save Entry.

If a check-in of the same type already exists for that date, Pacts tells you that saving will replace it. A Clear status also appears. Choose it and tap Clear Entry to remove that day's check-in.

When you open the sheet with Add Note, it starts on the type set in Default Log Entry in Customization. Swiping right on a card in Today opens it on the type you tapped.

Mood

Daily check-ins from the Log Entry sheet, weekly reviews and guided forms include a mood from 1 to 5, shown as five faces from low to high. Your moods feed the Mood Over Time chart in Insights.

Log past days

You can log entries for any day from the pact's start date up to today. You can't log future days. There are three ways to catch up:

  • Go to that day on the Today tab and check in from the card.
  • Open the pact's Calendar and tap the day.
  • Change the date in any check-in or entry sheet.

Edit or delete an entry

  1. Open the pact and tap the entry in its Log.
  2. Entry Details shows everything you recorded: status, mood, reflection and answers.
  3. Tap the menu button at the top right and choose Edit Entry or Delete Entry.

In Edit Entry, you can change the date and the written fields. For check-ins, you can also change the Status to Completed, Missed or Not Logged. Not Logged removes the check-in. If another check-in of the same kind already exists on the new date, Pacts tells you before you save.

Delete Entry removes the entry permanently. It can't be undone.

How streaks work

A pact's streak is the number of active days in a row, counting back from today, that you marked done. Daily check-ins and weekly reviews both count.

  • Days the pact isn't active on, based on its frequency, are skipped over. A weekday pact keeps its streak over the weekend.
  • If today is an active day and you haven't checked in yet, your streak still counts up to yesterday.
  • An active day marked Missed, or one with no check-in at all, ends the streak.

The current streak appears on pact cards, on the pact screen and in Insights. It also drives the streak-at-risk notification and streak milestones.
