Saves and iCloud

"A newer game is in iCloud"

You played on another device since this one last saved. Choose iCloud game to continue from the other device, or This device's game to keep this one. Each option shows its island, ships sunk, gold and Renown. The game you don't keep is replaced.

"A newer game from another device is in iCloud. Close and reopen Tide Keep to choose which to keep."

Another device saved while you were playing here, so backups from this device paused. Close Tide Keep fully (swipe it away in the app switcher) and open it again to choose.

"Sign in to iCloud in the Settings app to back up your progress."

Your game is only on this device. Sign in to iCloud in the iOS Settings app, then tap Settings > iCloud backup to back up now.

"This device's save couldn't be read, so it isn't being backed up."

Tide Keep couldn't read this device's save and kept the original aside. Your iCloud game is left untouched. Email support@oddomens.com before you reset anything.

I got a new iPhone or iPad

Sign in with the same iCloud account and install Tide Keep. Your game is restored when it opens. Perks and bundles come back from the App Store. See Privacy & Data.

Purchases

A purchase didn't arrive

• If you saw "Your purchase is waiting for approval.", a parent needs to approve it with Ask to Buy. It arrives on its own after that.
• Go to Settings > Shop & Purchases and tap Restore purchases.
• "That purchase couldn't be verified yet." means Apple's check didn't pass this time, often because of the device's clock. Tide Keep tries again on its own. If it never arrives, email support.

The shop shows Retry instead of prices

The shop couldn't reach the App Store. Check your connection, then tap Retry.

My pearls are missing after reinstalling

Restore your iCloud game when you open Tide Keep. Pearl packs bought on your Apple Account that your game never received are also added back on their own, with a message saying how many.

I can't find the shop

Show the shop is off. Turn it on in Settings > Shop & Purchases. If a parent PIN is set, it's needed.

Parent PIN

I forgot the parent PIN

Tap Forgot PIN? on the PIN keypad and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode. Then choose a new PIN or turn the PIN off. Reinstalling the game doesn't clear the PIN. See Parents.

"Resetting the PIN needs this device's passcode, Face ID or Touch ID"

The device has no passcode set, so Tide Keep can't confirm you own it. Set a passcode in the iOS Settings app under Face ID & Passcode (or Touch ID & Passcode), then tap Forgot PIN? again.

"Too many tries."

Three wrong PINs in a row lock the keypad for five minutes. Wait for the time shown, then try again.

Online play

I don't see the Harbor

Turn on Play online in Settings > Online. The Harbor button appears at the top right.

"To invade other captains, sign in to Game Center"

Sign in to Game Center in the iOS Settings app under Game Center, then open Settings > Online in Tide Keep. If you cancelled Game Center's sign-in, iOS won't ask again; sign in from the Settings app instead. Navy forts work in the meantime.

"To invade other captains, sign in to iCloud in the Settings app."

Invading other captains and sharing your castle need iCloud. Sign in to iCloud in the iOS Settings app.

"Screen Time limits online play on this account"

Your Game Center account is a child's account or has multiplayer turned off in Screen Time. You get the leaderboards and Navy forts, but not other captains.

"Every castle near your trophies is shielded or busy."

No other captain's castle is free near your trophies right now. Try again later, or practise on a Royal Navy fort.

"A new Tide Keep is out"

Your copy is too old to play with other captains. Your island plays on as normal, but invading and sharing your castle are off until you update from the App Store.

"Tide Keep can't see your Game Center friends."

Allow it in the iOS Settings app under Game Center > Friends.

My last invasion finished while I was away

If the app closes during a battle, the battle is settled as it would have ended. A banner shows the result the next time you open Tide Keep.

Gameplay

Why can't I set sail?

You need both the Grand Fortress (Castle Walls level 15) and the island's warlord sunk. The Sea Chart shows which is missing. See Islands & Renown.

Why can't I build a tower?

• The first tower needs a Wooden Stockade. Build Castle Walls on the Upgrades tab.
• Each tower spot unlocks when the one before it is built.
• Both carpenters may be busy. The card says Carpenters busy.

My castle earned nothing while I was away

Only defenses that fire on their own earn while you're away, so a lone keep earns nothing without the Master Gunner. A sacked castle earns nothing until its walls are repaired. See Defending the Castle.

The game runs slowly or gets warm

Turn on Reduced effects in Settings > Sound & Gameplay. Tide Keep also reduces effects on its own in Low Power Mode or when the device is hot.

Does Tide Keep have ads?

No.
