Bible
The Bible section is a reader for the full text of the Bible in 10 working translations. It opens at Genesis 1 in the King James Version.
Choose what to read
The bar at the top of the reader has three controls:
- Translation: the first menu. Pick any translation from the list below.
- Book: the second menu lists every book in that translation. Choosing a book takes you to chapter 1.
- Chapter: use < and > to go back or forward one chapter.
To jump straight to a chapter, open Select Chapter under the bar and pick a number.
Verse numbers are shown in small type at the start of each verse. In the King James Version, words the translators added for sense are shown in italics, as in printed editions.
TIP
Translations number and name their books differently. When you switch translation, the reader keeps your book when it can. If it can't, it goes back to the first book.

WARNING
The menu also lists German, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Hungarian and Polish translations, but they don't show any text yet.
When you choose a translation, the reader downloads its whole text, which is several megabytes. This can take a few seconds, and the reader shows Loading Scripture... while it loads. After that, moving between books and chapters in that translation is instant.
The reader doesn't remember your place. Each visit starts again at Genesis 1 in the King James Version.
