Settings & Performance
Open Settings from the main menu, or from the Settings tab of the in-match menu (Esc). Changes apply straight away.
Saved to your account or device
Most settings are saved to your account, so they follow you when you sign in on another browser. These settings stay on the device you set them on, because the right value depends on the device:
- Quality
- Frame rate limit
- Power saver
- On-screen controls
- Render scale and dynamic resolution
Privacy
Only in the main menu's Settings.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Show my name in Rankings | When off, everyone else sees "Hidden Player" in Rankings. You still see your own name, and players in your match always do. See Accounts. |
| Your data | Download saves a copy of everything Salvo stores about your account. See Privacy & Data. |
Mouse
| Setting | Range | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sensitivity | 0.1–5 | 1.00 | How fast the view turns with the mouse |
| Aim-down-sights sensitivity | 0.2–2 | 1.00 | Multiplier while aiming. Zoom is compensated automatically. |
| Invert vertical look | On / Off | Off | |
| Toggle aim | On / Off | Off | Click right mouse once to aim instead of holding it. Also applies to LT on a controller. |
Video
| Setting | Options | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quality | Potato, Low, Medium, High | Depends on your device | See Quality |
| Frame rate limit | 30 FPS, 60 FPS, 120 FPS, Unlocked | 30 FPS | Higher is smoother but works your graphics card harder. The game itself always runs at 60 ticks a second. Unlocked follows your display. |
| Power saver | Auto, On, Off | Auto | Caps the frame rate at 30, renders at most one pixel per screen pixel and slows the menu backdrop. Auto turns it on while on battery and on phones and tablets. |
| Field of view | 80°–115° | 100° | Horizontal, measured at 16:9 |
| Show FPS | On / Off | Off | Adds your frame rate next to your ping |
| Damage numbers | On / Off | On | Shows how much damage each hit does. Always on in the Firing Range. |
| Crosshair color | Any color | Off-white |
Quality
| Preset | Resolution | Shadows | Other |
|---|---|---|---|
| High | Full, up to 1.5× on high-density screens | Sharp | Antialiasing, indoor lights, the most ground detail |
| Medium | Full | Yes | Antialiasing, ground detail |
| Low | 75% | Off | Less ground detail |
| Potato | 50% | Off | Simplest lighting and materials, no reflections, no scenery outside the play area, no bullet holes or casings, simpler deaths. For computers without a graphics card. |
Salvo draws the game in a deliberately pixelated retro style, so the resolution you see is set by that look rather than the preset.
The first time you play, Salvo picks a quality to suit your device:
- Phones, tablets and computers with 2 or fewer processor cores or 2 GB or less of memory start on Low, with power saving.
- Computers with 4 or fewer cores or 4 GB or less start on Medium.
- Computers with 8 or more cores and 8 GB or more start on High.
- Everything else starts on Medium.
Salvo also adjusts quality on its own until you pick one yourself:
- If your browser is drawing the game without the graphics card, it switches to Potato and shows a tip.
- On a computer with integrated graphics, it switches to Low once.
- On your first visit on battery power, it starts one step lower.
- If a match stays slow for 10 seconds, it lowers quality one step (never below Low), at most once per match, and tells you: "Graphics lowered to Low to keep the game smooth. Change it in Settings → Video."
During a match, Salvo also lowers the rendering resolution for a while when the frame rate drops below your limit, then raises it again when things settle.

| Interface | 0–100 | 70 | Hit markers, menus and countdowns |
| Sound indicator | Off, Zombies and Outbreak, Every mode | Off | Shows which way sounds come from around the crosshair, only while you can hear them |
When the sound indicator is on, choose which sounds it shows: Gunfire, Explosions and grenades, Footsteps, Zombies, Melee, Vehicles and helicopters and Doors and airdrops. All are on by default. Teammates' footsteps never show.

| Setting | Range | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
