Reporting & Search

Reporting

Reporting lists every expense and revenue entry in one wallet for a date range, with net income at the top. To open it, open a Personal or Business wallet and tap the chart button in the toolbar.

The header shows:

  • Date: the selected range.
  • Net Income: revenue minus expenses for the range.
  • In and Out: total revenue and total expenses, rounded to whole amounts.

Below that, every transaction in the range is listed newest first, with its name, merchant or source, amount and date.

Choose a date range

Tap the filter button in the toolbar and pick a range:

RangeIncludes
Current YearThe current calendar year. This is the default.
Previous YearLast calendar year.
All TimeEvery entry in the wallet.
Current MonthThis calendar month.
Previous MonthLast calendar month.
Custom RangePick a start and end date at the top of the list.

Delete a transaction

Long-press a transaction, tap Delete, then confirm.

Export to CSV

  1. Choose the date range you want.
  2. Tap the download button in the toolbar.
  3. Choose where to send Transactions.csv in the share sheet, for example Files, Mail or AirDrop.

The file has one row per transaction with these columns: Type, ID, Name/Title, Amount, Date, Notes, Source/Category, Stream/PaymentOption and Business Name. For expenses, Source/Category holds the category and Stream/PaymentOption holds the payment method. For revenue, they hold the source and stream.

CSV is the only export format. Fen doesn't import data.

Merchant Summary

Merchant Summary groups your expenses by merchant across all wallets. Open the menu and tap Merchant Summary.

The header shows how much you spent and with how many merchants. Each merchant shows its total, its number of transactions and the date of the last purchase. Merchants are sorted by total spent, highest first.

Tap the button in the top right to pick All Years or a single year.

Merchants are grouped by the exact name you typed, so "Costco" and "Costco Wholesale" show as two merchants.

Search looks through every wallet. On the home screen, tap the magnifying glass and start typing.

Search matches:

  • Expenses by item name or merchant.
  • Revenue by title or source.

Matching ignores capitalization and matches part of a word, so "star" finds "Starbucks." Results update as you type. Tap a result to open it for editing.
