Islands & Renown
Your home island is only the first of seven. Once your castle is a Grand Fortress and the island's warlord is sunk, you can set sail for the next island and start a new castle there, with Renown making every island after a little easier.
The Sea Chart
Tap the map button at the top right to open the Sea Chart. It shows:
- The islands you've held and the ones ahead. Tap an island for its raiders, warlord and how tough its ships are.
- Your Renown and the gold and damage bonus it gives.
- Set Sail, with what you still need to do and how much Renown you'd earn.
A badge on the map button shows when you can set sail.
The seven islands
| Island | Raiders | Warlord |
|---|---|---|
| Saltmere (your home island) | Pirates | The Ghost Ship |
| Frostholm | Frost Raiders | The Jarl's Dragonship |
| Cindermaw | Cinder Corsairs | The Ember Tyrant |
| Verdance | Jungle Buccaneers | The Serpent Queen |
| Wraith Reef | Drowned Crews | The Drowned Armada |
| Stormspire | Storm Reavers | The Thunder Baron |
| Pirate King's Isle | The King's Fleet | The Pirate King |
Each island has its own look and weather: snow on Frostholm, embers on Cindermaw, fireflies on Verdance, mist on Wraith Reef, rain on Stormspire and drifting gold on the Pirate King's Isle. Your home island takes the name you gave it and the grass you choose in Customization.
Each island's ships are 2.6 times tougher than the last island's, and pay a little more. You'll need to out-gun every island again.
Legendary islands
Sinking the Pirate King crowns you King or Queen of the Seas. After that, Legendary islands go on without end, such as Legendary Frostholm I and Legendary Cindermaw II. Each one is tougher again, and pays more.
Set sail
To set sail you need both:
- The Grand Fortress: Castle Walls level 15.
- The island's warlord sunk. Warlords attack at night. See Defending the Castle.
Then:
- Open the Sea Chart.
- Tap Set Sail.
- Confirm with Set Sail (+n Renown).
| On the new island, these start over | These carry across |
|---|---|
| Gold | Renown |
| Defenses and their levels | Achievements |
| Upgrades | Pearls |
| The castle (back to a Lone Keep) | Looks you've unlocked |
| Infamy | Purchases |
| Builds in progress | Lifetime stats and the Captain's Log |
Your Harbor fleet, Doubloons and Captain level aren't affected. See Ships & Fleet.
Renown
Renown is a lasting bonus. Each point adds 5% gold and 5% damage on every island after.
You earn Renown when you set sail, based on the gold you earned on that island by playing:
| Gold earned on the island | Renown |
|---|---|
| Under 10 million | 0 |
| 10 million | 1 |
| 100 million | 2 |
| 1 billion | 3 |
| 1 trillion | 6 |
That's one point for every tenfold of gold past a million. Gold from achievement rewards, pearls, event rewards and invasions doesn't count.
Renown also gives you a head start: you land on each new island with some gold already in the treasury. The more Renown, the bigger the purse.
