Timeline
The Timeline is your world's history: a list of events in order, grouped into eras.
Add an event
- Click Timeline in the sidebar, then Add Event.
- Fill in the event:
| Field | Use |
|---|---|
| Event Title | Required. For example "The Fall of the Iron Throne". |
| Description | What happened and why it matters. |
| Linked Entities | Click characters, locations, things, lore, factions or creatures to connect them to the event. |
| Year (Sort Order) | A number used to put events in order. Negative years work for events before your calendar's starting point. |
| Time / Season | Free text, such as "Early Spring" or "Third Age". |
| Era / Arc | The era or story arc the event belongs to, such as "The Dark Age". |
| Event Type | Event, battle, discovery, birth, death, founding, collapse or prophecy. Each has its own icon. |
- Click Create Event.
How events are ordered
Events are sorted by Year. Leave the year at 0 for an event with no year. Events without a year are placed using the first number in Time / Season, if there is one. Events with the same position stay in the order you created them.
Eras
Events with the same Era / Arc are grouped under a colored heading. Eras appear in the order of their earliest event, and their colors are assigned automatically. Events with no era are listed without a heading.
Event cards
Each event shows its type icon, title, year and time, type, the start of its description and an Involves row of linked entries. Click a linked entry to open it.
Hover over an event to edit or delete it. Deleted events go to the Trash.
Use Search timeline... to find events by title, description or type.
Timeline events are saved as Lore entries, so they also appear in the Lore list and count toward Timeline events on the Overview page.
